# Invoice sent, invoice paid: settled.

Quittio comes from the German “Quittung” (receipt) and “quitt sein” (to be settled). We want e-invoices in Laravel to be as natural as sending mail.

## How we work

- ### Specification before code

  Every rule is described and backed by a source before it is built.
- ### Official validators

  KoSIT and veraPDF decide whether an invoice is valid, not us.
- ### Tax review

  A tax adviser confirmed the legal texts, rules and defaults of the German country pack in October 2026. What the review does not cover is listed publicly in the README. The packs for Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and France have not been reviewed yet.
- ### Open core

  Creating and validating is free. Managed funds the ongoing maintenance of the rules.
